Overview
Your 5 days tour starts by exploring the Great pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, then head to Dahshur, to start a great pyramid tour of the Red Pyramid & the Bent Pyramid. Move on to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser in Saqqara, the world's oldest major stone structure. On the second day, you get to sightsee the main highlights of Alexandria:The Roman Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pilllar, Qaitbey Citadel & the Alexandria Bibliotheca.. On the third day, you will fly to Luxor to get to see the valley of the kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple & Memnon Colossi. On the fourth day, you will get to enjoy an exceptional 4x4 Desert Safari in Fayoum, as while heading to the Valley of Wales, you will Sandsurf, then get to enjoy the mud brick ruins of temple-filled Karanis, founded in the 3rd century BC, and stunning Qarun Lake, It is a packed day with lots to see, do and experience. On the Fifth day, you get to see Cairo city properly by going to the Egyptian Museum, then head to see Salahdin Citadel, including the Great Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha. Afterwards, enjoying the churches & synagouge of Old Cairo is a must. After enjoying your delicious lunch, you get to relax on the Nile River, the longest worldwide, by riding a Felucca (sail boat). Finally, the famous Khan Khalili Bazaar is your chance to see a part of the 1000 years old Cairo capital & its amazing mosques such as Al-Azhar Mosque.
Itinerary
Giza Tour
Giza Pyranids, Dahshur & Saqqara
Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive towards Dahshur, about 40 Km from Cairo, to start a great pyramid tour of the Red Pyramid & the Bent Pyramid. Move on to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser in Saqqara, the world's oldest major stone structure, also enjoying one of the famous tombs in Saqqara with daily life scenes, Stop for lunch in a good quality local restaurant, Moving on to enjoy an excursion to the pyramids of Cheops, Cepheren and Mykerinus and enjoying a camel ride as well. Continue to visit the great sphinx, the head of the a pharaoh with a lion's body, which dates back to the time of king Cepheren, also you will see The Valley temple which also belongs to King Cepheren ,later you will be transferred back to your hotel. Lunch is included between visits.
Cairo City Tour
Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo, Alabaster Mosque, Saladin Citadel, Felucca & Khan Khalili Bazaar
Cairo City tour is all about exploring the different cultural aspects of Egypt. You will be picked up to navigate through the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Tahrir Square. It has the largest collection of Egyptian Antiquities which exhibits over 250,000 artefacts, including an inclusive exhibit of King Tutankhamun treasures, gold & jewelry. Then head to see the Salahdin Citadel, a medieval Islamic fortification on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo & the Great Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. You get the chance to learn more about Coptic Cairo, a unique area within Old Cairo, witnessed part of the Holy Family flight into Egypt, is full of some of the oldest churches in Egypt, primarily the Hanging Church of the Virgin Mary to ‘hang’ high upon the walls of Babylon, the Church of St. Sergius, the 5th century, built upon the crypt in which the Holy Family hide & Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Cairo, founded in the 9th century on what is believed to be the Temple of Jeremiah or the site where Moses was found. By reaching Khan Khalili Bazaar, you will have the chance to navigate through countless shops of all sorts of goods. Your tour will be wrapped up by safely being dropped off at your hotel.
Alexandria Tour
The Roman Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey's Pilllar, Qaitbey Citadel & the Alexandria Bibliotheca.
Our tour guide will be waiting for you at your hotel’s lobby to pick you up for Alexandria day tour. You’ll see first the famous Roman catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa which is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Then you move on to see Pompey’s pillar which had been dedicated to the Roman emperor Diocletian in the vicinity of the main temple of ancient Alexandria of god Serapis, and then you’ll see the 14th century citadel of Sultan Qaitbey built over the destroyed Alexandria Lighthouse which is considered one of the ancient world, then to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina which is constructed quite close to the original sit of ancient Alexandria Library, and finally you’ll drive back to Cairo.
Fayoum Tour
Valley of Wales, Qaroun Lake, Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, Mudawara Mountain & Medinet Madi.
You will be picked up at 7 a.m. to head to Fayoum, located about 100 kilometers south of Cairo. Fayoum is a vast depression which contains a big lake called Qaroun Lake. First you’ll see the site of Wadi El Hitan or (Valley of the Whales) which owes its name to its numerous fossils and skeletons of old whales, the site was designated as a World Heritage site in 2005 because of valuable fossil remains of the earliest, and now extinct “Archaeoceti”, it’s located in the unique Wadi El Rayan nature protectorate in Fayoum Governorate which also designated by UNESCO as a protected World Heritage site in 1989. Then you will head to see Wadi El Rayan waterfalls. On your way to Wadi El Rayan you’ll stop to see Mudawara Mountain, afterward you’ll visit an ancient Egyptian site called Medinet Madi (Ancient City Uncovered), where the kings of the middle kingdom built a temple dedicated to the serpent goddess Renenutet, the temple built during the time of Amenemhet III, completed by Amenemhet IV and renovated during Greco-Roman period. Eventually, you will get your lunch before heading back to Cairo.
Luxor Tour
Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, Valley of the Kings & Memnon Colossi.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo to go to the airport to catch your flight to Luxor, then upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your tour guide to explore the wonders of Luxor. Since Egypt was ruled from Luxor for more than five centuries as the main capital of the country, and because of the major amount of its remaining monuments, Luxor is often called the world's greatest open-air museum. Your tour in Luxor will begin by transferring you towards the west bank of the Nile with our Egyptologist tour guide to visit first the Valley of the Kings where the most famous pharaohs had been buried, there you can see tombs of king Ramesses III, Merenptah the son of Ramesses II and his successor, Ramesses V & VI, King Tutankhamen, and others. Then you’ll move to the unique design temple of Hatshepsut, the only pharaonic queen who ruled Egypt for about 22 years. On your way to the other side of the Nile, you’ll pass by the two Colossi of Memnon which was preceding the huge memorial temple of King Amenhotep III, having your lunch in a good quality restaurant before visiting the sites of the east bank, where the daily cult temples had been built to the main god of the state at that time, god Amun-Re, for whom the large complex of Karnak temples had been dedicated, after visiting Karnak you’ll continue with another southern temple, Luxor temple, once it was built it was connected to Karnak with about 3 Kilometers long avenue of sphinxes, then you’ll drive back to the airport to head back to Cairo to be dropped off at your hotel.
