8 Days Egypt Luxury Tour — Cairo, Nile Cruise & Temples

Your luxury week in Egypt begins the moment you land at Cairo International Airport, where our representative meets you and takes care of every formality. A private, air-conditioned car then brings you to your hotel to check in. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and rest before the journey ahead.

Following breakfast, meet your private Egyptologist and drive out to the Giza Plateau, where the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus rise from the sand beside the watchful Sphinx. There is time for photographs and an optional camel ride before you head into the city.

Next comes the Egyptian Museum, whose galleries hold Tutankhamun's gold and thousands of other finds from the pharaonic age. A relaxed Egyptian lunch follows before you return to your hotel.

After an early breakfast you transfer to the airport for the short flight to Luxor, where you are escorted aboard your five-star cruiser and served lunch on deck. In the afternoon, explore Luxor's East Bank: the vast Karnak Temple complex with its towering Hypostyle Hall, then the graceful Luxor Temple, once linked to Karnak by an avenue of sphinxes. Return to the ship for dinner and your first night on the Nile.

With breakfast served on board, cross to the West Bank — the ancient burial ground of Thebes. Step into the painted royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings, take in the cliff-side terraces of Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahari, and pause beneath the giant Colossi of Memnon. Back aboard, lunch is served as the cruiser casts off southward for Edfu.

A horse-drawn carriage carries you from the dock to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, among the best-preserved temples anywhere in Egypt. As the ship sails on to Kom Ombo, lunch is served on deck. There you visit the unusual double Kom Ombo Temple, shared between the crocodile god Sobek and Horus the Elder, with its ancient reliefs and mummified crocodiles. Dinner and overnight on board as you continue toward Aswan.

This morning explore Aswan, beginning at the High Dam, the feat of engineering that reshaped modern Egypt. A short motorboat ride then brings you to the island temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and rescued stone by stone from the rising water. Return to the cruiser for lunch and a restful afternoon on the riverside.

Optional tour: visit to a Nubian village by boat.

After breakfast you disembark and transfer to Aswan airport for the flight to Cairo, where our team greets you again and takes you to your hotel. The evening is free to relax or enjoy the city at your own pace.
