Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel by the tour guide to visit the Citadel Of Salah El-Din, a medieval Islamic fortification on Mokattam hill near the center of Cairo, and The Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, built between 1830 and 1848. Then head to Gayer Anderson Museum, located behind the oldest still-standing mosque in Egypt, Ibn Tulun Mosque, restored between 1935 and 1942 by Gayer Anderson, a British major and army physician who purchased two houses — one built by Amina bint Salim al-Gazzar in 1540 A.D. and the other by Abd al-Qadir al-Haddad in 1670 A.D. — and joined them by a veranda, filling them with antiquities and artworks from his travels in the region. Additionally, the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" was filmed there. A local lunch will be served in one of the authentic restaurants. After that, get ready to navigate through Moez Street, the main street through the Fatimid's grand city of Cairo, where you will discover Islamic architecture and history through its many Fatimid, Ayyubid, Mamluk, and Ottoman monuments and mosques. By reaching Khan Al-Khalili Cairo Bazaar, you will have the chance to browse countless shops of all sorts of goods before being dropped off safely at your hotel.
